Jul 19, 2006 12:41 pm These are freebies? Sweet!! I'm gonna download 'em after work and check it out.
Jul 19, 2006 12:44 pm yeah the phase one at the bottom right looks mighty handy for multi-mic setups on guitars...i guess it's just a digital delay when it comes down to it.

Jul 19, 2006 01:41 pm I've used the phase bug before. There's only 1 problem about using it, and its that due to its inherent latency, you have to not only put it on say 1 overhead, but on all of your kit mics because it'll introduce a slight delay in your signal, making it impossible to get your phase correct unless you insert it on all tracks that you're trying to get in phase.
I tried using it on out-of-phase guitars a couple of times but ended up just going back to the old 'click and drag the waveform' technique.

Jul 19, 2006 08:43 pm Hey Forty, another good one-knob dynamics plugin is the Classic Master Limiter from the classic series. I use it way more than I should...I think I'm addicted to it.

Jul 19, 2006 09:28 pm That was why I was addicted to Magneto for so long. One knob and a couple of switches. Easy to use.
But it didn't satisfy my inner tweaker.

Jul 20, 2006 10:16 am I've used Magneto before, and I absolutely loved it. I can see how you got 'addicted' to it :) But it was not of 'scrupulous' origins so I got rid of it. I'm going to have to buy a stand-alone copy of it one day if the price ever drops.
Jul 20, 2006 11:33 pm wow. have yo9u used that? how is it?
p.s. thanks for the tip, tadpui

Jul 21, 2006 08:22 pm Tadpui, try the PSP vintage Warmer when it goes on sale. It is Magneto on steroids. Way smoother, warmer and can go even wilder.
