Does anybody else get that annoying low end distortion when converting BR files? Is there a fix for it, or do I really have to run Win 98 for this recorder?

Jul 09, 2006 09:33 pm As far as I knew the software from Roland runs on XP just fine. This is the first I have heard of any trouble tranfering audio with it. IT really should be a straight up digital transfer and should not be adding any tonal changes to what the audio originally was. There are a few others here who use the software I believe to run the tracks out to the PC for editing. Maybe one of them will shed some light here for you.
And welcome to HRC.
Jul 09, 2006 10:40 pm Thanks for the response. I have the feeling that I have simply worn the thing out. The stuff sounds good through the monitors but once it has left the BR file and gets converted to .wav there is a huge spike in the bottom end. Even if I go back and eliminate all but a thread of bass.

Jul 10, 2006 09:45 pm What software are you mixing with once its in the PC? That might be what is contributing to the bottom end depending on what pluggins and such it uses.

Jul 11, 2006 10:27 am I use mine as a A/D converted/preamp/emulator and just go through the unit into my soundcard via optical digital cable. No messing with Smartmedia cards.
