Hey Guys

I just got done doing a couple of covers for a six song set I'll be doing with some family (i.e. 2 of us on guitars with my drums + bass on backing MP3 player via my PA) with live vocals etc..just a wee pub gig for a party.

Anyway, I got done recording some sample tracks...see what ye think. This isn't really anything all that special - just a couple of songs from the set but I figured, hell they are recorded now may as well share em!

Experimented with a new Les Paul tone with the VAMP..see what ya think:

1) Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

2) Help!

Cheers for listening and awra best from Coco!!

Coco.

Nice one..cheers Noize my man - as I say, a quick couple of takes and these pups were done...but, I should hopefully be sounding similar to this live as I plan on using the VAMP for this wee gig...never used it live yet.

Should be a lot of fun and ideal for the setup I have going on...though, now I have been gigging again with the band for quite some time, I gotta say, it wouldnt work so well in a band context (but hell, thats why I bought me a big fatass Marshall ;-)

Cheers again bud.

Dude, yer voice is meant for stuff like that. I loved it, although I am gonna have to give it a louder listen tommorrow. I thought boht renditions were quite grand indeed. Especially time of your life. I never pictured that tune gettin rocked out like that. On help, man I was wantin to hear the harmonies so bad. But it works just as is.

Anyway, I am gonna listen again tommorrow and maybe give em a bit more justice then.

But I liked the way you belted em out for sure.

Both of these are going in my playlist coco, great job. I especially liked Help! ;) Excellent tone on the LP for both songs, and some of the best vocal performances I've heard you do! I really like what you did with both songs, rocked up right. :)

The harmonies would indeed be nice on Help!, but I can see why you didn't do them since they'd be in stratosphere (time to get ya one of the VW's). LOL

Loved'em both,

Dan

Hey Noize - cheers for the listen man and the comments - appreciate that for sure.

Yah, I'll maybe do some harmonies at some point - got the tracks laid down, I hear a few scratchy bits here n there but they were both single takes one shot affairs!! Time pressing as it was...but, I'll mibees revisit! Cheers again.

Olddog my man -good to hear from ya bud! Cheers for the listens too and the comments..indeed, that VW tool would be the muts nuts for sure...ta for takin the time bud and glad ya liked em. Im gonna do a few more for this wee gig - maybes Where The Streets Have No Name, 500 Miles (Proclaimers) and maybe Bryan Adams - Summer of 69...all for the gig.

Cheers again guys...appreciate yer time n comments.

Listening to "Help!" again...

Love your take on it! Your voice is Lennon-esque enough to pull it off. Yes, the harmonies would really round out the sound, but I think you've done a great job without them. The guitars sound great, and the vocals are right there.

I'm on a big Beatles kick right now, so this came at a great time for me. Lovin' it, I am.

Nice one Jim -cheers bud!! Good to hear from you too bud...

Indeed, Help is my favourite Beatles song to sing and very luckily, its in A which is handy whenever theres a chance to do it oot (mibees karaoke etc hehehe..love that song man).

Going thru a big Beatles kick again myself the now...I am thinkin of recording Helter Skelter U2 style with a Coco edge and some other cool experimental stuff but, it wont be easy...

Again, cheers Jim - much appreciated bud.

Yep, had to listen again today. I'm liken your version of Time of your life for sure. It took me by suprise when I played it last night, still again today. Such an interesting take on the tune really. The drums maybe have a bit of work for timing and such but it was really an interesting take on that tune.

Help, indeed the harmonies would be a lot of work, but I'm sure you could pull it off. Ya need to get yerself Sonar 5 with V-Vocal and youd be all set. Its just a rockin tune even without the harmony. Man your voice is just perfect for the version you do of both tunes. Just gets my attention and keeps it. I dont know if its that scottish accent that is the key or what. But whatever it is you just got them tunes rockin.

Lookin' forward to hearing more Coco! I've been on Dave Clark 5 kick myself the last month. I have one done but haven't decided if I'm going to upload it yet. Also been thinking of doing "Run for Your Life" (Beatles) and a Neil Young song, while I wait for inspiration. LOL

Any who, top job on the 2 you did, they are in WMP now and on my daily playlist. Help! is one of my all time favorites and you did it proud bud!!

Nice work coco. I really dig the Help! cover. Actually they are both good but I'm a Beatles fan so that would have to be my favorite.

Hey Guys

Cheers a lot !! If I am honest, these were quickish recordings so I am glad ye all liked em for sure!! Seriously, !

Noize, Im gonna check this whole harmony thing out for sure - and Dan, aye - that unit you have would indeed be mega cool to have...must check that out too. Though, cash will be the issue at the mo , but the wishlist it doth groweth ;-) !! And it shall be raided soon ;-D !! Yeeha...

Cheers to ye for the kind words...muchos appreciated

DieMusik - cheers for the listens buddy and the comments - also much appreciated. Glad ya liked Help! I honestly believe, it's Lennons most underrated song which was, his own cry for help from the irkes and life of Beatlemania, his wife, family, his own drowning in stardom and so much more...and, a bloody cool pop song to boot ;-) but, it is so much more. Anyways, cheers again bud.

Ta to ye all.

Coco.

Dude, all I know is I've played em for several peeps and all of them have freaked out on your take of the Greenday tune. Of course Tuna and Ray pegged it was you from the get go.
