I haven't done anything like this yet, and have been waiting for an opportunity to give it a whirl.

Jun 09, 2006 07:25 pm Gotta agree, very nice effort pjk. I liked the beat going behind the main part of the commercial.

Jun 12, 2006 11:48 am thanks guys. I was fairly interested in your opinion, Noize, as I know you've done stuff like this before, and I wouldn't mind being open to more stuff like this.

Jun 14, 2006 08:43 am Thanks guys, I much appreciate the kind remarks.
I don't know of any tips, Coco, other than just doing it.
I should have used a music stand to hold the copy, as the person reading gets fidgety holding a piece of paper, then you can hear it moving in the mic.
I had the person sitting on a chair, and head facing up, to make the voice more open, and deep feeling.
Other than that, I made heavy use of cutting the voice part, and moving it around afterward, moving it around the sounds. I also used volume envelopes a lot, and a lot of fades on starts and ends of snippets.
Oh yeah, and compress everything. Several times, on some stuff, actually.
