New track, Bigger Drums

Hey guys, I put up a new, sample track to get some input on please. I have been trying to get a bigger drum sound and I think that I'm close with this. The music is not what I'm worried about, this is just a scratch track. Anyhow, any thoughts, inputs or death threats would be great. Thank you! www.acidplanet.com/artist...3949&t=1353

Interesting kind of thing going on there. I listened a little quiet tonight so I can really comment on the audio, but it didnt sound bad at all at low volume. I'll give it another shot tommorrow.

Thanks for the listen. I put another short 1 minute track up tonight too. Both are just experiments. I dont think they sound too bad but I'm still learning.

I like the drum mix on the first track. The "neo-punk" jam, that is....Sounds like you've got a good ear for a balanced mix, too.
I'd love to hear a rundown on your drum mic set-up?
Good jams, man!

Thank you for the listen and kind words JF. I wish I knew how to mic a drumset. These tracks are made with the BFD drum software and programmed on the piano roll in Sonar Home Studio 4. I have to give the guys that made BFD the credit, they made a beautiful sounding drum module. All I had to do was to tweak it to my taste.

D'oh! Wow, man, I would have never known they weren't live!
Only thirty two and my ears are already failing me!! And I'm still searching for a decent, cheap, drum mic solution....sheesh.......
Anyhoo, I enjoyed listening to your stuff, so keep rocking.

Dude, I love the guitar in the newer one. That is great. What did you play through, a live rig or an emulater like the POD or something?

Great tune as well, you should really stretch that one out and go with it.

Thanks for the listen Noize. Its an Ibanez Rg350 loaded with Dimarzio Evolutions front and rear and a chopper in the center run through a Pod XT live. Another fine product. That second track was a lot of fun, I am thinking about doing more with it actually. Thank you!

OK here is the updated version of the "short jam" tune. Its still short at only about 2 minutes but I'm pretty happy with it. Watch out, it gets a little funky near the end. Take care guys!

Dude, that bass guitar is really punchy. Almost overbearing, but it is what is driving that tune along with the drums. Very nice mix, everything is sitting very well, and all the stuff is prominant without drowing out any of the other instruments. The arrangement is great, it doesnt get boaring at all. You could stretch that out to who knows how long with the licks you have going in there.

Honestly I like this one and would buy a CD full of this stuff.

Thanks again for the listen and the input Noize. The bass was a little bit of a common accident. I pushed it up while mixing on my monitors (which on go to 56hz)only to get in my car with a sub and hear a bit more bass than I had planned. I have the KRK RP-5 monitors so I guess I should think about that add on sub they offer. Thanks again!
