use an adapter cable to go from the main 1/4" outs from your mixer to the line in on your sound card. Then connect your speakers as you normally would to the stereo out from your card.

Plugging your reciever into the line in via Y-cable will not work because you need an outgoing signal to go to your reciever. As far as sound quality goes using the line in, that may just be because you are using a stock soundcard that really isnt geared towards quality recording.

hmm well there are many choices there, take a look at what M-audio or Line6 has to offer. Since you have a mixer, you may just want something with 1/4" inputs and little else to cut down expenses.

the UX2 has phantom power...no worries about the mixer having it or not.

phantom power is not any kind of advantage. It is used to power the internal amp inside condenser microphones so don't worry about your shure pg58 since it is a passive dynamic mic.

You can find all sorts of different microphones for different purposes. If you want a better mic for vocals then you may want to invest in a condenser mic. Some are selling for 100 bucks these days. Its all in what your needs are.

Well my mixer has phantom power on it too. The thing i dont get about my mixer is the 2 buttons that say "tape to control room" and it got a arrow pointing down that says "tape to mix". And i dont no where i should put the adapter to hook my mixer up to my computer the main out L or R i tried all of them and the best sound i get is by using the HEADPHONES input. What should i do?

That is my mixer right there>> www.behringer.com/UB802/index.cfm?lang=ENG
