and it still is.

I've recorded a C.D for a guitarist who wants to take it around to bars/restaurants and use it as a demo of his 'back'ground' music repertoire.

I have about 13 tracks of which this is one.

Recorded with a Studio Projects B3, cardiod, 7 inches from 12th fret. The guitar was a £1500 Gibson dreadnought so I don't have any excuses really!

On recording the bottom came out a bit boomy so I cut at 250hz and applied a tiny bit of reverb.

Can anybody give me some tips. The string noise it pretty harsh in places and maybe the top end is a little bright too. I guess it still sounds a little boxy in places too. Its abit quiet. This happened when I cut the lows out. Should I normalise it back up? Also ignore the end. I forgot to e.q that bit! duh.

Many thanks guys. as always,

Flashy

I took the lows down, raised the mids and high a little bit. Another thing you could try before you even try eqing is mic placement. You know that that mic in that place on that guitar gives you that sound. So change it up a little, throw the mic a little closer to where the body and neck meet, or use another mic, or two. But yeah, if you want I'll post the MP3 of that with my eqing.
