I have a Tascam DP-01fx recording unit that I have been using for a few months now. I am also using an AKG perception 200 condenser for vocals and an SM57 for guitars. My best recordings have been from attaching my Tascam unit to the mixer at the youth center I play at and recording my band live. I want to get a more professional sound, but im not sure how to start. What can I do to get the most out of the equipment that I have?

Apr 19, 2006 11:30 am It says in the product description of that unit that it has two parametric eqs per channel... you could use these to notch-out room for each track/instrument to sit better in the mix, and then apply some compression to the entire mix to get back some of the lost level . Something to consider, if you haven't already .
Apr 19, 2006 04:48 pm I havent thought of that. The eqs have been helpful I dont know if I can add much compression with the unit itself, but a compressor is something that I have considered

Apr 19, 2006 05:16 pm It appears that the compressor is located in the 'Drums' section of fx .
