I'm doing some demo recording this weekend and don't have a bass handy at the moment. Does anyone know of a good vst plugin that I could use to replicate a bass sound through guitar? I know i could use an octave pedal to get an approximation, but the tone always sounds a little weird to me. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Mar 10, 2006 05:04 pm Plug a guitar in direct, no effects and pitch shift it down an octave in your recording software. Then compress the crap out of it. It actually sounds pretty convincing. An acoustic guitar works also.
Other than that, you can probably use some sort of VST instrument or soft synth to pluck bass lines if you can find decent samples to use.
