I decided that I wanted to become a musician in third grade after the neighborhood babysitter turned me onto MTV and my next door neighbor turned me on to the Eurythmics, Huey Lewis, and Prince. I bounced from keyboards to sax to vocals over the years, eventually becoming enamored with old school blues and new school hairmetal. I picked up my first guitar my sophomore year in high school and proceeded to practice six to eight hours a day on classical, flamenco, blues, and rock to the exclusion of school and everything else. Once in college I started moving more towards punk and goth music.
After playing around for a year or two, I got married, sold all of my equipment, and became a corporate programmer...
<ten years of sadness follow>
I'm now back with a vengeance. I have a new band by the name of Responsible Johnny (www.myspace.com/responsiblejohnny) and am finally taking the plunge into home recording.
