Probably a question for WYD. How can you change the outs to direct Outs on the VS 1680? I just can't seem to get it. i have 12 tracks to do and get fed up with 2 at a time

Feb 28, 2006 10:11 am hmmmm i've always rocked the two tracks at a time (SPDIF to avoid reconverting), but i bet you can turn your two aux's (A&B L+R) along with your main outs into 6 direct outs, you'd hafta route four of the tracks to the aux's via pre fader, then make sure they're not bussed to the master out, you can do this by turning the fader all the way down. then you can get two tracks out of the master by hard panning.....i think that'd work.

Feb 28, 2006 10:16 am You make it sound so so simple LOL i really appreciate the quick response. i realise i will probably lose a little of the quality, but That is a price i may be willing to pay at this stage.

Feb 28, 2006 10:25 am cool man, good luck!! yeah i've never personally done it before, just remember to pan everything hard left and right, i didn't see what kinda interface to your computer you're using, but i'm gonna assume you have enough inputs (6) to handle it.

Feb 28, 2006 05:07 pm heh i ended up sellin' my 1680 about two months ago, after i got a good interface to my computer, the roland just sat and collected dust, it's good to have for a mobile recorder, but i never got much use outta it, and i was short on rent! hahaha oh well, a friend of mine has it, so i still get visitation rights.

Feb 28, 2006 05:24 pm Until the studio/practice room gets done out fully I will use the VS for practice. Just noting down ideas then transfer them to the PC in the comfort of y office. I still reckon the VS is a good bit of kit and will always have its place. It's a shame it's not really connectable with the pc though.
I hope you don't have to pay VS child support to gowith those monthly visiting rights LOL
