Well here it is the first recording using my new sound card ESI1010, some was recorded on a VS1680 then transferred over as i recorded some at my brothers house and the rest at mine.

Its only an idea at the moment and is guitar based. But hey I have to start somewhere and i couldn't wait to try th new sound card out.

Give me your comments and please do not be bashfull (i can take it)

I still don't know how to get an automatic link to the song so

Go to profiles, msic etc then "Guitar Thingy"

Cheers then

Cheers pjk The song was my brothers idea I just recorded it. Now I've got to get a drum riff going on it, now that will be a whole new experience as I have never multi tracked a kit b4 directly into the PC.

Hows your ESP shapping up, had time to record with it yet?

naw, i'm working more on building my studio, so I've nowhere to really put my pc yet. I loaded win xp64 on it, but i couldn't get the drivers for the ESP1010 to be seen by xp, so I put w2k on it. I've fiddled with video stuff, and a bit in FL studio, but can't do much with it till my control room gets done, which should be this weekend.

I purchased a bit sooner than I needed it, but i'm replaceing insurance items, and my ins. rep. is starting to push us along, so I've got to get replaceing what I'm going to replace. Otherwise, we won't get re-imbursed for the $$$ we put out.

which reminds me, i need to get a dualhead video card. cool, more stuff =).

Sounds pretty darn good to me man. Great acoustic tone, and great electric tone as well. The bass gets a little buried in there, but I'm listening on cheapie headphones at the office so bass response isn't too good for me here anyways.

What was your electric guitar setup? Are they direct or mic'd up?

i hear ya, i have a good buddy that i'm trading computer fixit time for studio building time, and I'm a few hours to the good =).

I had a contractor friend help me frame the walls, but i'm doing everything else myself, so it's a long and spendy road.

I know the feeling only too well on the cost side, even though some of the materials have been generously donated by some of my customers (the joys of being a contractor) but I still have to buy a fair amount including all the elecs etc...

I thought I heard a Gibson in there, but I didn't see one in your gear profile. Its just that classic Gibson humbucker crunch that I'm so fond of.

I love those Classic 50s. My friend has had one since we were just out of high school and it was the amp that convinced me that I needed a tube amp. I brought my LP over to his house a couple years ago, plugged it in, and turned it up. I was in love. They were discontinued before I was in the market for a tube amp, or else I just may have ended up with one. That has to be the only piece of non-PA gear that I like from Peavey. Certainly the only guitar amp I like from them.

A Martin acoustic, I guess that explains why I liked that tone so well also!

All in all, good job, I'd like to hear this with lyrics and the rest of the instrumentaton. The new card seems to be doing you fine!

You know how to make a man smile Tad. The reason the gtrs etc aren't in the profile is coz they are all my brothers as he is the guitarist.

Now all i can say is that the classic 50 is a dream of an amp. I have heard many as my brother was always changing them after a few months until he found this one, probably 8 years ago or so, I can't really remember. but anyhow he has a multitude of gtrs and i can honestly say that it sounds great with all of them. Such a versitile amp. And the martin is such a dream to record. No compression very little EQ so nice & natural you wouldn't want to change it.

i hope to have the drums recoded for it within the next month. But we have a problem with the lyrics as we are not really songwriters lyrically and heaven forbid should you hear either of us sing (oooouuccccccccchhhh)

maybe i'll start a collab project for vocals etc??????

Kaos, very nice. I like the old school jangly tone you got on the electric. The tune is pretty well mixed as well.

Did I hear a fretless bass in there as well. Is it real or is it a synth? Either way it sound great. I liked the leads as well. Sounds like you have a great start to a cool tune indeed.

Thanx noise

The bass is neither fretless nor a synth but is real (I haven't a clue how to go about using synth's too complicated for a backwater boy like me)

i'm looking forward to working further on this one.
