Jan 26, 2006 11:18 pm Im assuming that your talking about the snare mic picking up that resonance. Im also gonna asume this is still going on when your not recording. The snares are vibrating from the tom's frequency. The options I know of are: tuning the tom lower (or higher if the tom is alredy low)or fiddling with the tension of the snare wire and the bottom head. Otherwise, depending on the type of music, a little snare wire vibration can sound good.

Jan 27, 2006 11:22 am i'd try aiming the tom mic differently...i can just picture your highest tom mic pointing right at the tom and the snare at the same time...try to get that mic more 'vertical'. also the tuning idea seems like a good one to me aswell. perhaps some dampening on the bottom snare head?
Jan 27, 2006 03:11 pm Ya the dampening pretty much took it away... well almost, but its probably the best sound I'm going to get until i get a better kit.
Thanks Guys
