laptop is dell inspiron 1100 with toshiba DVD 24x
and has win xp home ed. desktop has win xp prof ed. with nero 6 ultra ed. and mitsumi burner,
CR 48X9 TE. was using some el cheapo disks from walmart and thought that may be the problem--switched to SONY, no difference. i have tried burning the disk two ways:
(1) nero burning rom > iso tab(use the default settings) > new > drag & drop the file to burn > click the burn icon from tool bar > select write and finalize cd, select write speed @ 8x and write method as disc at once and click burn.
(2) open nero express > select appropriate format
(data disk) > add > select my file and click add again > click finish > click next > select write speed @ 8x, uncheck allow files to .... , uncheck verify data ... , and click burn.
sorry about the long post but didn' know any other way.

Oct 12, 2005 04:59 pm Did the burn "complete"? Can you open the disk on the desktop that burned it? Are you able to access and use the files? Can you open other disks on the laptop?

Oct 13, 2005 07:01 pm completing the burn is simply closing the session, adding song indexes and such red-book formatting crap.

Oct 13, 2005 07:32 pm ... and meaning that you can no longer add files to the disk.
We are experiencing similar problems here at work. We are experimenting with different media types to see if we can find out once and for all if it is media that is causing the prob. I'll get back to you if we figure it out. Sure is a pain in the *** though.
