HHB Radius 50 compressor settings?

Does anyone own this unit. The setting options are a little different then what I have seen before. I know that there is not a perfect cut and dry templet setting for compressors, I am just looking for a place to start. Can anyone recommend a generic setting? Here are the setting options:
Input Gain: +16 to +60
Threshold: +20 to -20
Ratio: 1:1.5 to 1:30
Gain Make-Up: 0 to 20
Output Fader: -30 to +15

Thanks in advance!

What kind of instrument do you want to compress?

This set-up would only be for voice over production.

Start by setting the input gain threshold make up gain and output to 0 dB. Have a ratio of about 1:4/1:5 and then turn the meters to gain reduction and toggle the threshold whilst speaking until you can hear and see the unit compressing. You should be getting about -4dB average gain reduction I suppose... I'm assuming your running it as an insert on amixer channel as I don't think it has a pre amp. Make sure you set the fader to '0' or 'unity' and toggle the mic pre gain to get a good average level 'before' inserting the compressor. If the level is to hot, and is clipping or 'drive'ing pull back some of the input gain and vice versa. If the level is clipping on the mixer channel on the way out, pull back some of the output gain. Make sure to experiment with the input gain level. Maybe you'll like the sound of the over driven tubes on a voice. I like the radius over driven over a drum mix. Sounds coool.

Dude, I'm thinking of a completely differetnt HHB tube compressor. Sorry lol. The compression settings will still be good though.
