Recording with a mixer and USB connection.

Hey, if anyone could help me with my problem it would be great.

I recently purchased a Yamaha MG10/2 Mixer and an AKG Perception 200 Microphone.

The mixer is connected through a USB port with an adapter called the Edirol USB Audio Interface UA-1X.

I have the mic cord plugged into mic plug 1.
The input wires from the adapter into the REC OUT RCA jacks on the mixer.
The output wires from the adapter into the ST OUT phone jacks on the mixer.

So far I have been able to record weak vocals with extreme feedback and static.

I also have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy LS soundcard.

I read that the output from the adapter needs to be plugged into studio moniters but all I have is a 5.1 surround sound set of speakers.

If anyone could give me a better setup or help me with recording through my soundcard and getting the quality I should from my brand new equipment it would be of great and well-appreciated help.

"The input wires from the adapter into the REC OUT RCA jacks on the mixer.
The output wires from the adapter into the ST OUT phone jacks on the mixer."

First connection seems OK, even if I would have written: "the REC OUT from the mixer to the inputs of the adapter"

But for the second one, it seems that you're connecting the output of the adapter to another output: how can that work ? What you can try is to plug that into a line level input in your mixer, provided it has one: but don't forget to turn this input down when you record. These inputs are used for playback only.

If your 5.1 speakers are self-amplified, they should have a basic stereo input that you may use. If they are not...

Thanks for the help man. I actually fixed my problem myself somehow, haha. I actually don't know exactly what I did to make it all work, but I was tryin' different combinations and it worked. Thanks again.
