Live sound

I dont know what section this topic should be in, but i guess im just thinking off the top of my head rather pointlessly so id ask it here. This site has taught me so much about recording and sound and ive been a member since back when i thought a mixer was something you drank with whisky...
anyhow, i was wondering since i think i can know just enough now to survive in the recording realm is there any sites or maybe is there a chance this site will have a live sound section? about getting good sound live when your just a garage band going at it on your own. Coz ive been noticiing with my band and touring that its a very integral part of a band, not to just play well but to sound good to. And there is all these little things i wish i knew as a kid that i am just picking up now or even jsut realizing. Things like how to stop feedback on stage and how to setup our amps to clear up sound. Stuff that goes even beyond the mixer like where to set up your equipment in a space or so...
just an idea i guess

I have often considered added live sound tips, tricks and articles to this site on many occassions over the last couple years. The trouble is that the few of us volunteering time to run the site can't really keep up on getting things done on time as it is now...I think the time may have come to expand the staff a little, not for moderating, but for contributing...I don't know...I'm at a loss.

I have a bit of experience in live sound, and it's actually much more difficult than recording in ways because at a gig you get one chance, if you blow it, it's blown forever...

Thanks for the suggestion, rest assured, it has been considered, and likely will be until I figure out how to handle the staffing/contributing situation. Back before the economy crunch brought on by war and such, companies would give me little things to give away as prizes for contributions, books, CD's, shirts and things like that...but those days are gone...so I don't know...it's not like HRC can pay journalists...but ultimately, that is where the problem lies, the what we want to do and want bandwidth we have to do it with ratio...

Hmmm, id be happy to do a grassroot type article about my experiences in live playing and sound.. but im not sure i have the credentials to be any of signifigance. Ive played hundreds of shows in teh past 5 years and toured all over south east asia, but im still pretty young and evertyhing was very sub par and DIY. So yeah.. who knows
