Guys,
I need constructive (or even destructive lol)comments on the mix:
209.245.59.184/Gimme/1570...ani_Aku-cvt.mp3
I'll be meeting the singer & drummer in 6hrs and in need of professional evaluation fast!! (before I got screwed by the drummer who happened to be the highest paid drummer in the country)... I can feel the burning ears already!
My most corcern is the SNARE's sound, but who knows there maybe more...
The link wont be up for long and the slice is only about 25% of the total song.. sorry..
Thanks a lot & happy listening!!!!
Cheers

Jul 05, 2005 03:44 am I hope thats in another language, if not, youve done a really bad job of mixing the vocals, i cant understand a word! :-P lol.
Im liking it very much ciinx. The vocals sound fantastic! IMO the guitars need a bit more presence, maybe a mid/high boost. especially the electric cause for me, theres not much going on in the Mid/high parts of the speakers.
Love the vocal mix.

Jul 05, 2005 01:15 pm Ok CS!
lol Aint Music universal??
I'll look into the electric guitar part and see what I can do.... with your view on the vocals, I think I wont touch that track anymore... hehe tq//
Jul 05, 2005 01:56 pm yeah i love the drum and vocal sounds, it's the guitars that need work.....the acoustic is WAY too thin!!! get some 300-1khz in there!!! perhaps same with the distorted guitars, i'm thinkin' you notched them out too much to make room for the vocals, just ease 'em back in a bit.
damn them vox and drums are great though...the drums remind me of what it sounds like on stage, like at a live show, infact i bet if you dub in some crowd (think stadium) this would sound really realistic. maybe it's the big reverbs!! hehe...i'm not gettin' alotta punch from the kick out of my 1" woofers. go figure.

Jul 05, 2005 03:15 pm The vocals indeed sound very good. I agree the guitars need a bit more presence in the mix and sound a little thin, particularly the solo. The drums and bass sound excellent though the snare might be a bit loud in relation to the rest, just personal preference there I suppose.
Good song, very well done!

Jul 06, 2005 06:16 am phew thanks guys, I really need that...
yes WYD, i had a few problems with drum reverbs tho, and i settled with Glaceverb (www.dasample.com/stats/download.php?id=21) which sounds big and better - also caused the muddy kick.
OD, Electric guitar sounds annoying to me since the day we record it and i had the choice of whether to include it or not. anyway i'll try to fix that with more alternatives..(or worst case, rerecord it using POD)...
The vocals are recorded with AKG c1000s, and very minor effects. I guess its really true that tracking process is the MOST important part of music!
anyway thanks for the comments guys, really appreciate it....
