so i guess its my bad when i saw teh delta 66 i thought 6 I/O's meant like all analog... as most of the people here who know it probably know, hte last two are S/PDIF. I odnt konw how that works though? i thought i was getting 6 inputs, but now that i can only plug 4 mics into the inputs... im 2 mics short of what i needed to record my drum kit, is there anyway i can cheat and get two more inputs to work on my S/PDIF input from my mics? or any suggestions as to get more input all together?

Jul 03, 2005 10:18 am Sure, though it's not really cheating...but, I have a question of concern first.
Are you pluggin mics directly in to the 66's analog inputs? If so, that's not gonna give you a very good isgnal, you need to preamp the signals first thru a mixer or standalone preamps.
That aside, one way to "cheat" would be to plug you mics into a preamp like service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear which has a S/PDIF output option...so, plug you mics in to the preamp and run the S/PDIF outputs into the S/PDIF inputs of your sound card.

Jul 03, 2005 10:50 am Oh yeah thanx dB, i am using a mixer of preamps.. i guess iw asnt clear about that. I have an old alesis 24 track digital recording mixer... does that have any outs that can work on my S/PDIF?

Jul 03, 2005 10:54 am no problem, glad to help.
Jul 05, 2005 01:03 pm you would need several 'modules' one that has a mic preamp in it, then a A/D converter, then you'd need a SPDIF output...check all the gear you have to see if you can get your mic signal to that input of your soundcard. ofcourse the better components the better resluts you'll get.
