recording/monitor set up

Hello...this forum is extremely helpful so far, so thanks to all who contribute.

I have a Behringer UB1202 mixer with an Echo MIA MIDI soundcard into my PC. I have the mixer plugged directly into the soundcard, which is fine for recording. My question is regarding monitoring. How do I need to configure the same to be able to monitor what was already recorded while recording a new track or tracks?

Learning the ropes...thanks!

runs the outs of the sound card straight to the amp/speakers.

just route the outs from your soundcard to the monitors through some means...(the Tape In on your mixer...RCA straight to the monitors/receiver...etc...)

also...you will need to tell your program where to send these tracks...and they should all go to the same place, in Nuendo i have my OUTPUT BUSS routed to the DELTA OUT1 and DELTA OUT2 (take into consideration that i use a DELTA soundcard, so yours might be labelled differently) there are alot of variables that go into this, like how you're monitoring all of this to begin with...what program you are using...etc..but you would basically do this the same way you assign which of your ECHO inputs channels record to which tracks in your program...its quite simple and i hope this clears things up...

Thanks...I thought I was an idiot for a bit...it was because the output was not set correctly on the soundcard. Thanks for the help.
