Hey Guys

Here's the last new one from me (following my other 3 I just posted up) which will also be part of my new band's first EP.

This one is pure, unadultered blues rock as best as I can muster!! I play all as per usual with my mate Scott on vocals. No backing yet but that'll be sorted with our final session.

The vocals on the main section could do with coming up a bit but othe than that, all critiques, errors and feedback on the mix are MOST welcome.

I am fairly happy with the rest of the mix but alas, its independent ears I need. You may also notice a vocal difference in this to the others other than key/quality i.e. the tone - see if ye can spy what it is....clue is - its hardware related.

OK, over to ya. This one, is called "All Around This Town".

Ye can get it here: www.breverstudios.com/dmr - via the dmrPOD on the page.

Cheers...

Coco.

P.S. Im thinkin this is the best drums I ever prog'd but we are auditioning (hopefully) a REAL drummer on Sunday so hopefully, nae mair plastic drums!! WOOT.

The sparkly stuff at the beginning sorta threw me...was that intentional? If so, it's kinda neat, if unexpected.

The transition from the acoustic intro to the electric part could be smoothed out just slightly...it sorta gives me the aural image of an anvil being dropped from a mountainside, a la Wile E. Coyote. :)

I really like the drum pattern, although there's a little creakiness to the sound of the drums themselves. If you can warm the sound up slightly, it'd be even better.

Guitar tone is excellent, the song is catchy, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. Nice job.

Ah, I think you may be referring to the "sparkly Stuff" which was myself, clodding about forgetting I was running a condenser MIC ! DOHHHHH!!!! I can get away with it with an SM58 but not with the Behri B1 !! DOHHHH!

Yah...I kinda want the big contrast but I would like it smoother too, its a good shout. I'll maybe look at some form of envlope on volume there just to ease it slightly in/out...some kinda cross fade maybe even....dunno. Good shout tho.

Aye, drums have long been a bain for me but alas, we have an actual drummer auditoning for us on Sunday so hopefully, I wont need to prog any more drums!! HAndy that'd be, but, for this version, I will take another listen and see if there is anything I can do to improve those drums.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and give feedback Thermo...always muchly appreciated my friend.

Cheers

Another fine effort!

I really liked the MIX. The snare was a cheeky bit soft and a bit verby but really nothing to mention (oh wait - i just did) :)

But as you say you have drummer coming in.

Other than that i really liked this one!

You have been busy

Cheers Bleak...aye, the trouble with the drum mix is it's one file. I dont do em all seperate usin the Zoom, just one MIDI file then out the PC, into the Zoom and back into the PC using the kits on the Zoom. Real drummer will sort tho as ye say.

Glad ye liked it and thanks for the listen mate...

Busy - busy and busy again man!! Cheers...

Coco.
