BR-1600 Questions re fade out and delay effects

I purchased a BR-1600 last week. I
love it...

I recorded my first song and cannot
figure out two things and would
appreciate any help.

1. I recorded my tracks, bounced to
9/10, set up mastering the way I
wanted...except I cannot seem to get
the fade out feature to work. I turned
on FX, I turned on FADE OUT, I entered
a time for it to start and a duration.
I played back V-Track 3 and recorded master
on V-track 4, however when I played
back the mastered track (V-4) the fade
out was not there....PLease help.

2. I want to be able to do the
standard "widen the guitar sound
trick" or recording a guitar track,
copying it to another track, panning
the original hard left, delaying the
copied track 15-20 milliseconds,
panning hard right, and only playing
back the wet or delayed signal. Can
this be done?
