Ive had my podxt for about 4 months, it wasnt till this weekend i really got into the deep editing and creating my own tones. WoW! Im amazed at the sound, so amazed im considering selling my amps, most of my pedals and getting a good power amp and some decent monitors, also the maybe selling the bean for the rack version.. the tone from the xt is awesome!!

I wis thinkin of buyin a power amp, a big fek off speaker (or cab) and my VAMP...cause it also kicks ***.

Gives me all the amps I want and need...and sounds about as good as my Marshall with a 58 or 57 on it!!

Aye...modellers ARE the future man.

xtc, glad to hear it. I have been using nothing but the POD for several years, actually since they came out. I did sell off my guitar amp's as well even after my first POD. Now with my XT I dont think I will ever go back to a full on amp again.

I have picked up a shortboard and use an expresion peddle with it for the wah and volume and it works great.

I would also recomend downloading the Live 6 Monkey as well as Line 6 Edit. They are invaluable tools for getting into the guts of the thing, (though you can deep edit as well from the controls onboard) I find it easier in the studio to run it with the editer.

I also recomend when cash permits getting the expansion packs. I did the entire glut of them for $99.00 I beleive and I havent regreted it. It adss a load of new amp models as well as cabinets and stomp box FX.

OH ya, HORRAY another POD convert!!!

Welcome to the digital realm...

AS a side note, if you find some of the patches to have to much bite, turn down the presence on them a bit. This will help get a better sounding midrange out of them.

noize, thanks for the tips i had been using the line 6 edit and i did buy all the model packs :), great stuff, i hear alot of good buzz about the new firmware update for the xt, thats why Line ^ owns, best modelling then factor in that they are constantly tweaking the software to get better sound, being able to upgrade your unit with a software download is the ultimate!

although i think when i sell my stuff the procedes will most likely end up going into baby stuff, which is kewl!!

yeah I have one little 15w fender amp that sits in my closet . I've been on the modeling kick for about 4 years now, and i must say things are getting better. I'm getting an XT Pro from my friend , but I'm also looking at the Vox Tone lab just to compair and see if the tone lab is all the hype it's made out to be. I'm working on a sequal to my amp sim article, where I'll use the XT the V-amp and the tone lab (the V-amp was in the last but it's still on the market and I've had a few years to play with the sucker).

I haven't seen anyone mention this amp but it is a great compliment to the POD.

hay coco go check out the past articles and you'll see I put the V-amp 2 ,J-station and Pod 2.0 up against each other . I've had a V-amp for about 3 years now . a side not the V-amp hasn't work for the past year. I liked it while it worked and it worked well.

Sanders me lado..ye must get over yer affliction to the modellers...that way when the machines take over, it'll be less of a shell shock for ya!!! hehehe...

Nah, I tell ye this. I own a lovely MArshall amp which I do love. But, I also own a VAMP. I Never owned a PODxT but I'd like to try one.

Now, I mentioned I own a nice REAL loud Marshall. But, I just cannot be bothered some times to tweak it. Hell, I even use my VAMP to jam in the studio when I aint recording...its great. Flick the mouse (I use the midi software) and I can edit my own "super amp" right there on the PC...its wicked man.

Ya Geoff, I forgot aboot that article. I even read it a while back - Im forgetful as hell...!

Cheers

Coco.

e-cards rock, trees really love them and it sure beats over priced hallmark b.s.

I've gotten tones of e-card whle I've been in Iraq and it's rocked . Oh and a amp is a little hard to take where every you need/want to go. I'd love a Mesa or H and K but I'll go for my modelers because of ease and flexibility ,plus I can get the sound I want. To each there own.

Th whole worlds against me.

Yea I understand where ya'll coming from, and I have actually tried a Pod before (I liked SOME of the effects but not the distortion). But since I dont have kids, and im not fighting for my country, Ill be cranking my amp.

Besides, when I travel, I have my Teenie Marshall to jam on :).

Hey XTC, i think it'll be a tad hard to hang a computer screen on your X-mas tree.

actually that statement i made about the trees was me in tree hugger mode, like less trees would be cut down if people wouldnt buy way overpriced colored cardboard.

:)

long live digital modelling, i still love the analog stuff, but its become impractical for me, the bedroom level hobby guitar player.

the kewl part is my wife's friend/co-worker is looking for an amp for her husband, she might just end up with a fender hot rod deluxe with brand spankin new EH tubes at a steal.. :)

that should get me a nice stroller!!!
