hey guys, havent been round here to post much lately, hows everyone been?
I recorded my first attempt at a solo project (aside from the band im in) the other night, its an acoustic song with some weird effects thrown into it. im not much of a singer (thats an understatement... i CANT sing haha) , so bear with the vocals.
anyway, if ya got the time, id appreciate any critique or comments you have. its at www.nowhereradio.com/dgallagher and the song title is "where freedom lies".
thanks.

Mar 09, 2005 04:42 pm awsome trippy synth work man! feels like Oasis meets Radiohead (compliment) as far as critiques the acoustic guitar sounded a bit 'jangley' i'd roll off at 4-7k....but i totaly dig the song...this is something that i'd listen to at night after a good party.
peace

Mar 10, 2005 05:21 pm thanks alot for the kind words WYD, im going to take a look at those frequencies on that guitar tonight. im still not sure whether or not to add a bassline to it. im not sure if it needs it, id rather not add it.
much appreciated

Mar 10, 2005 06:57 pm Click discography, i was pretty confused about that when i first came to NWR too
Mar 10, 2005 07:33 pm I love the song actually... but the vocals sound a bit low. Your voice isn't bad (you got a Roger Waters sound to you) so dont be afraid to turn it up. I love the synths... sounds like accoustic Brian Eno!

Mar 10, 2005 08:00 pm Hey, thanks alot, being a big pink floyd fan, i take that roger waters comment as an amazing compliment. as for the vocals, i noticed they seemed a bit low, im gonna work on the mix a little more to make it blend a little more.

Mar 10, 2005 09:02 pm I think I'd second the 'jangley' thing. I'm thinking maybe a low-volume bass synth, just to keep things together.
I wouldn't say this is my personal cup of tea, but I like it anyway.

Mar 11, 2005 03:45 am Nice work there Dan, I'd agree the acoustic could be warmed up a bit, but it works well for the song any who. Vocals are fine, don't under estimate yourself. :)
