Does anyone know, off hand, if Avalon or Universal Audio makes a preamp vst plugin?

the preamp is used to get sounds to a appropriate level to record. So there are really no preamp plug ins per say. What you probably want is a channel strip plugin. A channel strip will have dynamics and EQ. I know avalon doesn't have one. Universal does but you have to buy their PCI Card that does all the processing. www.uaudio.com/products/software/UAD-1/index.html
If you don't want to spend the money on the uad-1 then I would recommend the Waves plugins.
