Mac PowerBook G4 -or- best computers for recording vocals?

Right now I'm recording on a very old (6+ years) Windows 98 desktop computer... if I remember correctly it's around 300 MHz. I ONLY record vocals -- I'm a lyricist/singer and my writing partner takes care of all the music and mixing. I'd like to get a new laptop to use for recording so I can take my work on the road with me when I need to, and I have been looking at the Mac PowerBook G4 (the 12" one). Is that good enough? Maybe too good for what I'm using it for? I just need to be able to record clear vocal tracks to send to my writing partner via the internet. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

It's not so much the computer, but the sound card/interface. Powerbooks have a built in sound card, but to get good sound quality, you will need an external sound card. I'd recommend firewire, but there are some good usb devices that will work. The Digidesign MBox is fairly cheap and comes with protools.

Thanks so much for the replies! This is the first I've heard of the MBox but I just read all the info about it on the Digidesign site and it sounds great. To make sure I'm understanding this correctly, if I get one of those, I don't need firewire?
