Hi, just wondered if anyone could suggest the best way to record a choir with church organ or piano accompaniment - types of mic, placement etc. I have decided to recorde 'dry' and add effects later but was more concerned with the mic setup. Any help welcome. It is an SATB choir.

My all time favorite array is a Decca-Tree. It is a four mic array using large diaphram condensers. I use two Rode NT1's stacked in a coincidental XY config center front, and two Behringer B2's each 40CM to the sides and 75CM to the rear of the front stack. Be sure to find critical distance and place the rear mics no more than half that distance.
