Has anyone tried the 3630 mod from Tape Op Magazine? It looks extremely simple, Im just wondering if it sounds any good. Sure, it removes the noise gate from the equation, but I dont use the darn thing anyway. If nae one has tried it yet, I'll be doing it soon, and let ye know how it sounds. I'll be using SPST switches to switch between modded and normal use. Should be fun!

Yeah, Tape Op will be reviewing the Black Lion Audio mods in the next issue. But the mod I refer to is cutting the jumper wires one the Noise Gate detection circuitry (thus eliminating the Noise Gate altogether). The noise gate circuitry apparently messes with the compression quite a bit, and in a bad way.

Thanx for the mod pages Flame. I'll be modding my 3630 quite a bit in the coming months as time allows (man work sucks!). Theres much potential in the box, but the manufacturers seem to have tried their hardest to screw that up. You know, the 3630 uses the same chip that dbx units use?
