Here's a rough mix of "Change" that will be on our upcoming album: homerecordingconnection.c...usic&id=161

We spent the better part of the last 2 years writing and recording this album ourselves. Let me know what you think.

wow man. i can definetely tell you spent the time on it. sounds truly professional.

i'm having a hard time giving any critisism as this recording kicks butt. but i'd love to hear some more presence in the vocals. maybe a small touch of ambient reverb and some tube emulation?

you're schooling is paying off! good luck with the album release!!

Thanks, drake.

Yeah, this is truly a rough mix with the faders up. it does have some verb we used on the snare as we tracked it but nothing permanent.

Should I wait until things are completely mixed before posting it for opinions?

I'm mainly looking for songwriting critique but if anyone thinks that a finished product would be more pleasing to listen to let me know.

Sorry I missed this one. All I can say is you need to let me know were to put in my order when the CD is done. I liked it, kinda radio friendly with and edge. Good use of some differant sounds and effects. I didnt geta chance to listen loud but at low volume it sounded pretty good for a rough mix.

If I hear anything out of the ordinary when I get a chance to listen louder I will let ya know.

Wow........ I love the song, and I especially love the recording quality and the stereo effects. Pro

Where can i find the el musico school of recording?

How long have you been recording for man?

Thanks, Colonel. Be assured that once this album is done, I'll be letting everyone with ears know about it.

I'd been recording for about 4.5 years before going to school for it. So about 5 years now.

"el musico school of recording" yeah right... you're on your way. Just keep recording and keep experimenting. The more you experiment the better you learn what works and what doesn't. School helps but it boils down to what you do beyond what is handed to you.

Sounds unbelievably good man. It certainly puts to shame anything I've ever done myself.

The only songwriting critique I could come up with would depend on if you're wanting radio play with this or not. If so, then you'll want to come up with a shorter mix (I think 3:30 is near the magic number for radio).

Hell, I love longer songs and I really like this one the way it is.

Radio-shmadio...

Well, it's obvious that we keep that in mind but when we write and produce our material, making ourselves happy is 1st priority.

I wish, that as a society, we can discover music again and actually learn to appreciate an artist's intentions... while keeping things catchy AND interesting

I'm glad you guys dig the track! I'll post another track or two once we get more editting done.
