Effects On Vocals

I’ve done a lot of experimenting with effects on my lead vocals… but I’m still not sure if what I’ve come up with is the best way to do things. Right now, I add a bit of chorusing automatically, and will usually put on some reverb as well. I go pretty light with both of these effects because I don’t want them to change the sound as much as enhance it. Anyway… my question would be: Do you get your best results using different effects? If so, what’s your technique?

Thanks for the input!

smidge of compression, and a pinch of reverb on an aux bus just about does it for me.....multi-tap delays are good for accenting specific words or phrases. other than that, i try to keep 'em high n' dry. careful with that chorus, if i were you i'd put it on an aux bus. too much and it'll sound like a flanger.

I think it all comes down to the sound your going for. Sometimes I leave my vocals pretty dry a bit of reverb and compression, other times I use alot of effects, such as chorus, flangers, pitch shifter, echo etc.

I almost always double track vocals though, I just like the sound of it. :)
