Can someone help me make my mind up... I have chosen to use Cakewalk but unsure as to with program to buy. Two favoured are Guitar Tracks Pro 3 and Home Studio 2004 XL but can't make my mind up. I want to record my bands demo, consiting of Drums, Bass, Guitar and Vox. Drum will be record via a Digial 8 Track and imported in, then I will record the rest directly into the software. What would you recommend for best results!!

Jan 12, 2005 09:17 am Guitar Tracks is very cool, I liked it a lot, but very guitar oriented with the effects and such bundled. Home Studio is much more broadly used and marketed, plus, as I recall it has MIDI support and stuff too, which, you may not use now....but....

Jan 12, 2005 09:23 am Thanks for that... I can still use Guitat tracks with drums and Vox, and the effects available will give me great results too. But you would recommend Home Studio 2004 XL instead!!
Jan 12, 2005 09:28 am Oh, don't get me wrong, GTP will work for what you are doing, most surely. It's a great app, very intutitive and very good sound. That wasn't the issue really. I was saying Home STduio just because it has a wider feature set. Most of those features you may not use, yet, but it would give you room to grow and expand your creativity with MIDI and other cool things like that. Thats all, they will both work fine right now for your immediate needs tho.
