i was walkin' outdoors with earplugs in durring band practice, and really liked the way my feet sounded when i walked, very low and boomy, yet you can really tell it was foot steps...so now i wanna use that sound couppled with a synth heartbeat for an intro....any of you sound design folks know how i could get it? i'm thinkin' about using an earbud headphone as a mic, but i think it might not be sensitive enough or two noizy...
thanks

Jan 10, 2005 03:22 pm hey, cool idea
maybe try muffling the microphone with a material similar to what the earplugs were made of?
good luck with it
Jan 10, 2005 03:26 pm www.bobtailsoftware.com has a plugin called "Sound System Modeler" that had lots of odd different models like that. The plug is quite cool. The company was hard hit by the hurricanes this summer which stopped production of their next product, but they may still sell SSM, I'm not sure...
That said, if they do, check it out, it's really cool, it has models of AM Radio, Yelling thru a wall, different environmental things like that.

thank you dB

Jan 10, 2005 05:17 pm Have you used that Sound System Modeler? How accurate is it for replicating other speakers?
Jan 10, 2005 05:45 pm Yeah, I have it, we beta tested it at HRC, a few of us have it, I believe Coolo does, Noize, flame and a few others.
It's a VERY cool plug, very unique, and their followup plug was really gonna be cool too, but then the hurricanes hit...
