No midi input?

Hello,

I recently purchased an Edirol pcr50 midi controller, and was under the impression that because the controller was usb powered, there was no need for a midi interface. Should I be able to trigger midi notes simply by running a usb cable from the midi controller to the usb port in the back of my computer? I am attempting to trigger midi notes via the pcr50 in Reason 2.5, but when I try to select a midi input, there is none. Do I still need to hook up midi cables for Reason to recognize a midi input? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

Sorry I can't help with this one, I'm sure someone will get to it soon though. I was also under the impression that all you needed was a USB connection... weird

Hey, I use a Radium 49 which is very similar but made be M-Audio.

I guess the first question is, have you installed the drivers for the keyboard?

If not, here is the link where you can find them:

coolo has it spot on. It sounds like you dont have the USB midi frivers installed. Once you have them in you will be able to select the pcr50 as your midi i/o port and it should all be good.
