I need sound card advice

I am building a system for multimedia home entertainment use and am a bit stuck for a sound card choice.
Must have specs include; Optical output, digital input for cable TV, minimum 5.1 surround. 24 bit processing at 192mghz. It will rarely if ever be used for gaming and music playback quality is more important then movies or TV. No front panel connections, and if possible, a remote control.
I have considered the audigy 2 zs platinum but it is more then I need and I don't know if the front panel is a mandatory use element. I really think I can find the right card for me for much less money as well. Any ideas?

Well, you will likely need to go for a recording-studio type card (don't shudder, it's not necessarily expensive) because any typical consumer card like SoundDisasters will have all those gaming features such as environmental sound FX, configs and such things you don't necessarily need.

One option would be the card I use in my studio, www.esi-pro.com/viewProduct.php?pid=43&page=1 ESI Juli@, it has coax digital (S/PDIF) ins and outs, analog ins and outs (either stereo 1/4" or stereo RCA) plus optical out, 5.1 support. Down to a more consumer level would be audiotrak.net/prodigy7.1LT.htm which I believe has what you need plus some...and up to 7.1

If you go the more consumer type card, you will get all the gaming features, which you don't need to use, but you will pay for anyway...but there are dozens of choices.
