CD player into mixer.

Hi, I am a drummer and I have some electronic pads running through an Alesis D4 which in turn is connected via the MIDI out to an AKAI S1000. Both of these are then connected to the stereo input channels on a Behringer UB802 mixer and they work fine. I also have a ghetto blaster CD player thing which I connect to one of the UB802's mono inputs from the CD players headphone socket. However, when I am playing along with the CD player, certain frequencies seem to slowly fade in and out, for instance one minute it will sound fine, then all I will be able to hear is the high end of the guitar, then it will sound fine again over a period of about 30 seconds. Is this because I am running a stereo source through a mono input or is it something to do with levels, any help is appreciated, thanks.

First thing I would do is get a stereo to mono adapter so that you are not missing half the CD, or, better yet, run that CD player into two channels.

Cheers guys, but it's fixed now, I found that there was a specialised track on the mixer for CD players and such like called 'Tape in' which uses two RCA jacks.
