Im looking for a good way to record guitar and ive already looked at all the possibilities, like micing and amp modelers, and i figured a di box would best suit me. Ive looked at some palmers and they look really nice. Iv heard some good things about them too. Has anybody heardanything about these? What di's would you suggest?

Are you recording electric or an acoustic with a pickup, clean or dirty rock guitar? how are you generating the sound, pedals, effects unit or what?

electric. I am going to record acoustic but that will be done by mic'ing. Both clean and dirty, but mostly dirty. I am going to use a rackmount effects processor.

amp simulations is the best way to do that, with something like a POD or similar...or it will sound very thin...usually...but then maybe palmers have some sort of processing that does that, I dunno, never used one.

well wat i planned on doing was running the line out of my marshall amp and micing it at the same time. I heard that thats the best way to mic the guitar i want. I here some good stuff and some bad stuff about amp modelers. I am just afriad about the sound quality. People say its great, but... I guess id just have to try it out for myself.

Yeah, modellers are just like anything, some love 'em and some hate 'em. I wouldn't run electric direct without one tho...I'd sooner have two different mics in diffeent locations on the amp.
