trouble shooting software?

Is theres such a thing like a program that scans for corrupt files,lost extensions, and what not cause my pc is acting up I have scaned for viruses and cleaned the registry i don't know what else to do is there a program that will find these types of problems and fix them automaticly?

yeah true thanks alot do you think there is a huge difference between 2004 and 2005 versions think if bought 2004 i could get 2005 update free?I f not I'll just buy the newest one sorry another question I curently installed McAfee Virus scan do you think that the two would cause problems with each other being the 2 top dogs and all?

Norton is one of those companies that is quite generous to their existing customers. I don't use their stuff any more, but, I bought their AV for the first time back in about '96 or so and from then until I quit using their stuff (around 2002) I don't think I paid more the $10 for any upgrade with the rebates they give existing users and such...

Never been a McAfee guy myself, so I dunno.
