Anybody have any experience with these mics? They seem like they are good but they are so cheap?

Dec 10, 2004 10:22 am I have a B3. I'm very happy with the results, though I've not tested or tried a lot of mics.
I have a recording of my sister singing with it, I'm hoping to have it posted this weekend with other web updates.

Dec 10, 2004 11:25 am Thanks pjk, I think for the extra $ the B3 is the way to go...I will be using them for overheads so it's nice to have the Low pass. Anybody else have any advice on these?

Dec 10, 2004 12:16 pm I was tracking drums with a bunch of dynamics, and not having much luck, I put the B3 out in front of the kick, and the whole kit came alive. All the sparkle and snap of the kit came through. Plus the punch of the kick.
I didn't have it right against, it was 1.5ft and slightly off center of the cut out.

Dec 10, 2004 01:08 pm condensors are definately the way to go to sparkle up the drum mix...That is an interesting placement too, I don't have any troubles getting punchy/snappy kick sounds as I use a Shure PZM for the kick but I definately need to improve my overheads so that is why I am looking for the condensors...it's good to hear at least some positive feedback on these mics, they are definately affordable! You should also try using the B3 along with a dynamic for your guitars if you haven't already, should be able to give more life to those tracks as well...CHEERZ pjk!
