Just curious as to the different schools of thought on these programs overall. Which is the best/most popular? I know there is alot to be said for personal preference and knowing specifically what you want out of them, but I would really like to know where you guys stand on this. Also is there a big enough difference between Sonar Studio and Sonar Producer editions to warrant the extra dough?

Dec 07, 2004 07:00 pm Acid is great if you are doing sample based loop music. The other two are great if you are doing more recording. Sonar and Cubase are generally considered to be more pro, and can handle what Acid does, but Acid just makes working with sampled loops a breeze. Not nearly as much cool stuff when dealing with recording/mixing though.
Dec 07, 2004 07:19 pm Actually, Sonar has a looping builder that works with Acid and makes it's own "GrooveClips" much like Acid. ALso, the producer edition mixes in surround sound formats (about 30 different surround formats) and has plugins that work in surround, studio eidtion does not. Some peeps may not care about that, but I surely do.
