I just purchased the tascam dp01-fx portastudio...fine item could have done better..but anyways..
I was wondering if anyone could reccommend a quality mic for recording things like..concert bands at a live show..choirs, speeches...I am on a limited budget and dont have a whole lot of experience with live recording..so anything would help..I have phantom power so I could go condenser mic...but what do the expertc think..also do I need two mics to get a stereo sound..I have one dedicated track for stereo..but If I want to not use that track or use multiple tracks I may need two of the same mic true or false..
thanks for the help

I have one of these - www.minidisco.com/ecm-ms907.html - for a sony MD I have. I've gotten very good stereo mix recordings with it (mostly outside, group setting). I think it's 75$ or so. If you got small condensors, you would need two for a stereo sound, most preferebly, two of the same, though I would think you could get by with two different ones. I would think it would sound pretty funny though.
