hey guys whats up, my setup is a dell 4600 with windows xp sp2 512mb ram and i just got this setup, it is very confusing to me, i have it all setup and installed with the soundcard, my question is how can i get my comp to record sound from a mic through omni power, i use adobe audition to record. do i need to configure anything, any certain ways? any comments are def welcome. again i am a beginner at this so in easy terms would be nice

TIA

I think you mean phantom power :)

I don't think the delta 66 has phantom power, you would then use a preamp or a mixer with phantom power to power the mics. But if you only have dynamic mics you don't need phantom power at all.

...or you can buy a phantom power supply. I think they run $100...

There's a FAQ over there on the left, that's got a bunch of helpful stuff on getting started. It'd also help if we knew what you have already.

Microphone? yes? what kind? dynamic or condensor, etc.

It sounds like you wanting someone to do the setup for you, which is pretty difficult from here. Read the faq and try some stuff out, you'll probably get it going on your own with a little trial and error. If you get stuck on specific items, there's a bunch of people here that'll help.

ohhh... ok...

try
start->controlpannel->sounds and audio devices-> Audio you should be able to select the delta66 as recording and playback...whats probably going on is that you have another soundcard or onboard sound and the computer is waiting patiently looking at that signal :)

If it doesn't show up as an option then you probably didn't install the drivers properly... these highend cards can be a pain in the ***... you might have to make sure that the breakout box is plugged in when you first installed the card. My aardvark Q10 acts really crazy when I do that :P scared the crap out of me the first time :)
