Ok, lets say I use a DAT to record 4 ins at a time. Is there any way to transmit these four ins on 4 different tracks in CUBASE or SONAR?

IF not. What would be the best thing to do this?

A standard DAT tape is just a stereo tape, therefor has only two tracks, so I am really not sure what you are asking...could you explain in a little more detail?

I think he means that if he has a mixer or something pluggged into his DAT and records 4 instruments at once into the stereo track of the DAT, can he then open the project as 4 seperate tracks in cubase. The answer to that would be no, because as db said, a DAT only has two tracks on it, and as such you'd only be able to load up two tracks into your software. A left and a Right one.
