first I have heard of it happening in ages, from anyone. I got this code about as streamlined as I can...I have to toss my arms up and surrender as it's only happening to a couple of people...which indicates client issues, not web site issues. ALso, after auto-logout you need to check your cookies and tell me which cookie is set and what the value of the cookie is before logging back in, that is the only way I can find out where the logged out was triggered from, thereby telling me which chunk of code failed, if any.

Hey DB,

Thanks for the tips. I think it is the good old work firewall that is having some issues with the site actually to tell you the truth man. I can stay on the HRC all day and not get kicked off at home I found out, but it always logs me out at work. I am thinking it is one of my security settings. I know that at work it kicks me off of Musiciansfriend.com also so I was thinking it had to be a java script or active x thing possibly. :) peace

Hmm, this has been happening to me all of a sudden for the past 2 weeks. How do I find the content of my cookie files if I'm using Mozilla Firefox.

Tools > Options > Privacy > expand "cookies" then press the "view cookies" button.

You should have two cookies when logged in and one cookie after an autologout.

The thing is it's the same people that it is happening to, and it's not many...which is why I always assume it's a client issue, some stupid firewall or paranioaware screwin things up.

This is not about the log out thing Db, but is related to your site. You are naughty. I have a link to HRC on my links page, and am happy to do it :), but when I click on it, I can not just click on the back button to get back to my site. you trap people at HRC. They need to be able to get back to me by clicking the back button.

I do absolutely nothing to break the back button at all. I would never do such a thing.

I just went to your site and clicked through and clicked back to get back to your site and it worked fine.

I would never participate in a practice I knew to be unethical such as that. I am not saying I never have without my direct knowledge, but I would never knowingly do such a thing.

I believe you. For some reason that's what it does with me. Only one other link does that on my links page. I don't know what it could be. My puter is running perfectly other wise. Oh well.

So, after I just got logged out, I could not find any cookies for homerecordingconnection.com or www.homerecordingconnection.com. I did however find two for beta.homrecordingconnection.com.

Now, after logging back in, I have 2 from homerecordingconnection.com called u_id and challenge.

Lost for words with all to say.

Last night something weird happened to me. I used Windows Washer to clean up my temp files etc. last night on my home computer and right after I did, I made my way over to this site. Of course, I had to re-login and place the check mark on to remember me everytime. I went to click on a message here and it came up white like it does when it logs me off but this time it had no message. It came up with the form to place a replay, like there was no message but yes a new post there. So, I logged back in, did the same thing. Logged back in again and this time it let me stay logged in when I went to a post, but yet it didn't have any message just the reply forms. Figured this part of the site was down and didn't think nothing about it. At work this morning, I see nobody has mentioned this so I now know it was just me. I don't have the cookies for you to see yet, I'll remote to my home PC and get those for you dB. Just figured maybe this will help you with what area is causing you trouble.

that can happen at times if you are clicking thru to a post as an admin or mod is deleting the post, and a couple of post have been deleted in the last day or so...
