OK, for me, I am adapt in the computer recording world. My school band just got a fostex vf 80 to record practices. now, how do i start a new song!? i know it seems silly... but i read the manual and messed with everything i could, and i cant start a new song. when i first turned it on, the demo song came up. and i cant start a new song. if anyone can inform me how to do this i'd appreciate it. thanks in advance!

Sep 16, 2004 04:52 pm I have a vf160, not sure if it would be the same for yours but here's what I do.
Below the screen, push the [PGM SEL] button and turn the jog wheel clockwise so that 'new program?' shows up on the screen. Hit the [Enter/Yes] button. Next is the configuration page where you can setup click track, name your program, etc. Just set these to your preferences and hit [Enter/yes] again. After that it's just a matter of setting up your inputs and levels and hitting record! Hopefully yours works the same way mine does, I imagine it would.
Sep 16, 2004 08:43 pm You may have to unprotect the song. I have a fostex mr-8 4 track and the demo song was protected. Unprotecting is just a matter of going through menues and diasbling it.
Sep 17, 2004 11:26 am I use a VF-16, and I do exactly what Mike describes. Go here:
