alright... i finally broke down and sold my delta 66 for a delta 1010lt to better compliment my behringer ub2442. i'm kinda nervous about the unbalanced inputs though... any advice from cable experts to reduce computer/environment noise in my recordings?

the card does have 2 balanced preamp inputs but 6 unbalanced. I bought 6 22 gauge RCA to 1/4" cables (only 3m long to reduce noise). was that the best move to reduce noise?

drake the best advice I can give you is not about buying the most expesive cables, but it is about using some common rules for routing the cables themselves.

1: stay away from power cords with any of the audio cables that will carry signal in the audio chain.

2: if they must cross pathes, make sure the do so 90 degree angles. never run them parallel.

3: keep the audio cable runs as short and clean as possible. go from point a to point b with the shortest possible path.

4: keep the cables away from PC moniter and its cable as well as any other sources of high power usage such as power amps and the like.

And yes, the the 3m cable is the shortest you ca use, then that will just fine.

Just remember to keep it all tidy and it will all be good.
