ok, so I've been using Pro tools LE for some months now and made some nice recordings. but here's my dumb question. on the mix window, when I adjust the faders, the volume changes (as in playback) but the levels do not (no matter if it's maxed or ziltched). how are you supposed to check for clipping and get all of your tracks to the right level? I'm really hoping this is a dumb question and not a bug.

Sep 13, 2004 03:24 pm you could by using a stereo master fader. then it will show you the level of your mix. on default the meters on the tracks show you recorded level as an analog tape machine would. There's an option for changing the meters to post fader in the setup preferences.
Sep 13, 2004 03:34 pm thanks a bunch. that is really helpful and obvious. but it's too bad I can't see the levels for the individual tracks when I adjust the volume. I know the faders are for monitoring so I'm not sure why the levels don't update.
thanks again though

Sep 13, 2004 04:09 pm you what, i was looing into where that option is exactly for you and i can't find it... i'll get back you you with what i find. for now just use a master fader to monitor your mix.
Sep 13, 2004 05:41 pm it's actually under the operations menu on the main screen and you deselect pre-fader metering.
