Thanks to all your help i am finally generating some sounds :) my midi controller keyboard is working nicely with Cuabse. My problem is latency. When i press a note on the keyboard there is an ever so slight ( and i mean really slight) delay.

It's more than playable but it would be nice to not have it. Is this sort of thing just to be expected or is something more sinister a foot ?
