Home Recording Book Recommendation.

Could you recommend a good and recent book for Home Recording?
This for a musician recording guitar and voice.
The PC is the center of my recording universe.
I am very computer savy and do simple home recording now but would like to take it to the next level.
Amazon has a ton of books with 5-star ratings so its hard to choose.
there is a HOME Recording for Idiots published in 2003 but I dont know if the beginner books are too beginner.

Thanks in advance for any advise!

it depends on what you want to focus on learning, i guess. the tips section at HRC has book reviews to browse through.

the mixing engineer's handbook and mastering engineer's handbook are two good ones (if i remember correctly) for the 'what and why' of many things related to capturing and manipulating sound.

"The Musician's Guide To Home Recording" by Peter McIan and "Home Recording For Musicians" by Craig Anderton. My fav's anyway.
