Hi Guys
Ive been after/had some quotes from some places on duplication (with full printing etc) through to just CD covers, raw materials etc. I just canny believe the guff people come oot with and the prices folk charge yi! Con men r us!
Would you believe some joker (Now, for US$ conversion, just DOUBLE the UK£ price) offered me:
50 CD COVERS (just covers, printed, cut but THATS IT) for £211.50 (+VAT - another 17.5%)!!! Then told me it wis a good deal! Fool...
I got more quotes, with company offering 1000 CD's duplicated, printed and boxes for £750 (approx).
SO, after this con-market that seems to try and exclude the indie musician with limited upfront funds I have deceided to go truely indie and do it ALL maself (i.e. outsource the bits I canny dae).
So, I will be going it alone (outsourcing printing) and getting the CD's / cases doing it maself at a Total cost for 500 cd'S of approx £300.
Not bad eh! Tho, if somebody has any contacts/reputable companies based in the UK or somewhere else who would ship to the UK for a decent price I would consider it...
If anyone else has any other similar sources for cheap CDR's and jewel cases I'd be greatful for that info tae.

Aug 25, 2004 11:58 am im starting to get to this point myself. i need to come up with some cd art etc, but i realize it wont be too far off. ive been looking around at these prices online and all of them seem a little high as well.
i have found one or two that seemed reasonable and i can dig up their links if you like, but being across the pond, i dont know if itll help you much.

Its a bit expensive so far for what I need I agree...self service is still looking best with the artwork sourced out to a printer.

Aug 25, 2004 12:10 pm If you are needing CD covers, etc., not trying to advertise or something (please don't kill me db!) but my buddy is a graphic artist and is off the chain (white gheto) when doing CD covers. I'll get the one we have for our album coming out to see what everyone thinks to give people ideas of covers. If you want collapse, give me an idea of what you coming up with and maybe I can give you something. Plus, I want to put my buddy to the test and see what he can do off the fly, give him someting to do!
Just an idea.
