Hay all , I'm trying to help out a friend of mine who just bought an older card the EMU APS card , his delema is his PC is not even registering his sound card , two factors that it might be , ( EMU , made by creative , have not replied back to me yet) he has an AMD prossesor and i know some hardware and software are picky like the echo card if not mistaken , the 2nd factor it might be is he's running XP and it was made for Win 95 or 98 , and it doesn't seem that they make the drivers for anything else . I think i'm going to tell him to send it back and get an M-audio card ,or something else but I'm trying to talk him into that brand because i'm thrilled with mine and they less expensive than a few others .

Yes, that is an old card, I believe there is one other member here that has one as well. It works fine if you are running an older OS, but since he is on XP, I highly doubt there will ever be drivers for it.

I am with you, M-Audio is great, and inexpensive, there is a list of good cards in the "recommended gear" thread of this forum, tell your friend to check out some of them and the prices...as I see it your friend has two choices, either regress in OS's back to Windows 9x or get a new sound card that is XP-able...I prefer to move forward instead of backwards myself.

Yep, double checked with E-MU. No driver's or update's for the APS card. It went the way of the Lexicon Core 2 and many other half way decent card's and audio interface's that were sent to market before the company had time to think about what they were getting into.
